Lake Winnipesaukee Mystery Stone The Lake Winnipesaukee mystery stone is shaped like an egg with smooth surfaces along with carvings on it. The egg is an alleged out-of-place artifact, or OOPArt, which is the term used for an artifact that is unusual for the place or time it’s connected to. In this case, pretty much all the details of the object’s purpose and origin are unknown, including when it was made and by whom. 8. Tal-Qadi Stone The Tal-Qadi stone is a small, fan-shaped limestone slab divided into five segments, each containing various figures, namely stars and what appear to be crescent moons. It was discovered in the Tal-Qadi temple complex in Salina, Malta and is currently on display at the National Museum of Archaeology in Valletta. 7. Longyou Caves Situated in the sandstone of Fenghuang Hill in China’s Zhejiang Province, the Longyou Caves are a complex of 24 man-made caves dating back to sometime between 2,000 and 3,000 years ago. Local farmers accidentally discovered the caves in 1992 while draining several ponds in the area. 6. Zodiac Concrete Slab This mysterious concrete slab appeared seemingly out of nowhere. In 2013, someone allegedly discovered a strange concrete slab with Zodiac and astrological symbols engraved into it near a house in Mission, British Columbia. 5. Dogu Figurines Japan’s earliest identifiable historical period is the Jomon Period, and people from this time are believed to have created the earliest forms of pottery in the world. They have some very elaborate vessels and containers but their most well-known pieces are animal- and human-like figurines called dogu, some which date as far back as the Incipient period, which lasted from 14,000 B.C. to 4,000 B.C., while most come from the Middle period (3000-2000 BC). 4. Wow! Signal On August 15, 1977, Ohio State University’s Big Ear Radio telescope picked up a narrowband signal coming from the direction of the Sagittarius constellation. Known as the Wow! Signal, the 72-second radio signal was 30 times more powerful than the area’s typical background radiation. In other words, it appeared to be of extraterrestrial origin, supporting the theory that life exists outside this planet. 3. The Ancient Rock Ship Some strange monolithic structures have been found in the area of Asuka Nara in Japan. Called Masuda-no-iwafune, or “the rock ship of Masuda” these stone monuments in the hills don’t fit in with any other construction and no one seems to know who built them, or when! 2. Roman Dodecahedrons The metal trinkets known as Roman dodecahedrons are small, hollow copper alloy objects that are studded with spheres and covered in strange symbols. Each dodecahedron contains 12 flat pentagonal faces with circular holes of varying diameter in the middle of each face. 1. Crashed “Space Capsule” Alien hunters recently discovered the alleged wreckage of a UFO in a remote Polish forest. A local news website published images of the purported abandoned spacecraft, and the pictures proceeded to spread across the internet, making international headlines.
