If intelligent life lived on planets 300 light-years away, they could spot us

Cornell University astronomer Lisa Kaltenegger explains that if there is intelligent life on planets 300 light-years away, they would be able to detect Earth's chemical traces. Kaltenegger and Lehigh University's Joshua Pepper have identified 1,004 main-sequence stars at that distance.
