Flourine detected in over 12-billion-year-old light from distant galaxy

Astronomers using the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA) have detected flourine in a distant star forming galaxy. Flourine is an "element found in our bones and teeth as fluoride," according to the European Southern Observatory. Credit: ESO
