Firefly Alpha rocket explodes during first orbital flight attempt

Firefly Aerospace's 95-foot-tall (29 meters) Alpha rocket launched from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California on a Sept. 2, 2021 and suffered an anomaly about 2.5 minutes into flight.
