So up first today we have some video taken in an unknown location, featuring an unknown creature that some are saying – could be an alien – or maybe even a ghost. Look at this. The footage comes from deep inside what appears to be a forest. Near a clearing among the trees, in what looks to be a pretty exposed area, there! Did you see that? Now, some are saying this was just some type of monkey – but when you look at the video when it’s zoomed in it’s pretty clear to see that this ain’t no monkey. As a matter of fact, I have no idea what this is – so hopefully someone out there watching does. Originally captured by Cayote Peterson of the YouTube channel Brave Wilderness – this is an amphiuma – or otherwise known simply as a huge salamander. The strange, slippery creature that lives in the swamps of the southeast United States, and almost appears to be an eel. But when you look closely you can see the little legs near its head, legs that it will use to burrow itself into the ground with. It exhibits a slimy defense mechanism as well – deploying a slipper mucus on it’s body whenever it feels threatened, making it virtually impossible for predators to latch on to it. Amphiumas also pack a pretty big bite, so you don’t want to startle it when it’s avoidable. Being amphibians they can breath in water or outside of it, which is why they prefer the rich marshes and swamps. 8 Frozen Woolly Mammoth Let’s take a break from the creepy crawlers and spooky paranormal to take a quick look at a blast from the past – and the really cool thing about this discovery is that is also unearthed a brand-new species of animal previously undocumented. This is what’s known as a pygmy wooly mammoth – measuring at only 7 feet tall, which is almost less than half the height of it’s well known relative the wooly mammoth. The animal was discovered in Siberia and is estimated to be at least 50,000 years old. This little guy was actually given the nickname golden mammoth because of the striking color of its fur. And for those thinking that this is just a baby mammoth - world renowned paleontologist Dr Albert Protopopov has repeatedly stressed that this is indeed a fully-grown adult, and absolutely not a baby. 7 Sea Pickles Alright moving right along – who likes pickles? Dill, kosher, sweet – the crispy-cruchy sensation is always welcoming! But what if I asked you if you liked sea pickles? Now that – I hope, would change your answer – because those are not the same thing. At all. So check this out. About a year ago, all over the west coast, thousands of sea pickles – technically called pyrosomes – started washing up on the shores of the west coast of the United States.
